INSTITUTE, W.Va. - -  West Virginia State limited UVa-Wise to 26 percent shooting and out-rebounded the Cavaliers 54-35 in scoring an 82-58 win in the final women's basketball game at Flemming Hall on Tuesday.

The victorious Yellow Jackets (18-9, 14-7 MEC) received a game-high 19 points from India Taste who also grabbed 10 boards and handed out three assists in her double-double performance.  Lexy Carson finished with 16 points, six rebounds, and eight assists, and Asia Greenleaf netted 12 points and corralled 10 boards in a stat sheet filled night for West Virginia State.

UVa-Wise (9-16, 5-16 MEC) made just seven of 33 shot attempts in the first half in falling behind 31-18 after 20 minutes.  The Cavaliers were unable to get on track as the Jackets led by as many as 38 points with 7:40 to play.  UVa-Wise received 12 points each from Taylor Sandidge and Makenzie Cluesman while Yasmine Tweedy added seven points and four steals in 10 minutes of play.

The Cavs will complete the regular season on Saturday when the team travels to Concord University.  Tip is set for 2 pm.
