WISE - - Taylor Sandidge scored 17 points to lead a quartet of Cavaliers in double figures as UVa-Wise scored an 81-68 win over Shepherd University at the Prior Center on Thursday.

UVa-Wise (9-14, 5-14 MEC) shot 46.2 percent from beyond the 3-point line and connected on 17 free throws in the victory.  Katie Jo Lester made three 3-pointers en route to 13 points while Makenzie Cluesman hit two shots from distance in her 15 point effort.  Reynesha Archer rounded out the double figure scorers for the Cavs with 13 points, the senior also added six rebounds in the contest.

Shepherd (2-21, 2-17 MEC) received a pair of double-double games in the loss as Hailey Brown scored 12 points and collected 10 rebounds and teammate Jimsye Brown netted 11points and grabbed 11 boards in defeat.  The Rams made just 3-15 shots from beyond the 3-point arc and were out-rebounded 49-42 in the game.

UVa-Wise will be back in action on Saturday when Fairmont State University visits for Senior Day 2014.  Tip-off is set for 1 pm.
