ABOUT UVA-WISE
UVa-Wise enters the game coming off its worst shooting performance of the season. The Cavaliers made just 25.4 percent of their shots in a 65-44 loss to West Virginia Wesleyan on Thursday. Brian Sydnor led the way both in the points column and the rebounding column. The Fairfax, Va. product scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the loss. On the season, Sydnor is averaging 10 boards a night to lead the MEC. Coach Blake Mellinger continues to search for the right on-the-floor combination as nine players appeared in Thursday's game, with eight of the nine playing 15 or more minutes. Saturday's game will be the final MEC game of 2014, the Cavs will play a pair of non-conference games and an exhibition contest before returning to league play at home against Wheeling Jesuit University on January 3rd.
