UVa-Wise Welcomes W. Va. Wesleyan for Home Opener

Storylines – West Virginia Wesleyan College game
The Bobcats are led by junior Chris Dewberry and senior Tanner McGrew, and W. Va. Wesleyan is off to a 1-5 start. Dewberry is averaging 14.3 points,
2.2 assists, and 1.8 rebounds per game through the first six games, meanwhile McGrew is averaging 9.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. Dewberry
has made a team-high 17 3-pointers, he is shooting 39.5 percent from beyond the arc and is adding 92.9 percent from the line. As a team, the Bobcats
are averaging 57.7 points per game and have already made a combined 38, 3-pointers. Overall, W. Va. Wesleyan is averaging 70.1 percent from the
free throw line. Most recently, the Bobcats suffered a 71-49 loss against Lake Erie, McGrew scored a team-high 12 points in the loss, collected six
rebounds and went 4-5 from the line.

UVa-Wise is still looking for its first Mountain East Conference win and trying to hault a four game losing streak after coming off a 85-45 setback to King
University. UVa-Wise had one player in double figures against the Tornado. Senior Tyler Maggard scored a team-high 12 points and made a game-high
four 3-pointers for the Cavaliers. Sophomore Brian Sydnor leads the conference in rebounding and he posted eight against King. Through five games,
UVa-Wise is allowing 93.2 points per game while scoring 68.4 points a contest. This will be the MEC home opener and the overall home opener as
well for the Cavaliers. Following the game, UVa-Wise will travel to Glenville, West Virginia this Saturday to take on Glenville State College at 4 pm.
