Storylines – The Urbana Game
in only the third game of the season, Mountain East Conference play begins.  Both UVa-Wise and Urbana enter the game winless having lost a pair of games in a season opening regional challenge. The Blue Knights lost 57-52 at Winston Salem State before falling 66-46 to St. Augustine's.  Urbana was picked 10th in the MEC Preseason Poll conducted by the league's coaches.  Kate Francisco has led the Blue Knights in the early going.  She leads the team in points scored, 11.0 ppg, and rebounds 7.0 rpg.  Francisco is the only starter to average double figures through Urbana's first two contests.  Francisco has teamed with Tori Purk to make a combined 16 3-pointers, Purk is the only other Blue Knight to average double figures having scored a total of 20 points off the bench in the first two games of the season.
About UVa-Wise
Junior college transfer Blair Harding has been a spark plug in the UVa-Wise offense.  The 5-9 guard is averaging 19 points per game in the early going while shooting 55 percent from the floor, 55.6 percent from beyond the arc, and 91.7 percent from the foul line.  Sophomore guard Taylor Sandidge is the only other Cavalier to average double figures, the Waynesboro, Virginia native is averaging 14 points a contest while also handing out 3.5 assists per game.  Saturday's game is the third of five straight away from the Prior Center to open the season for coach Kristin Kunzman's team.  Last year, UVa-Wise posted a 6-10 mark in games outside of Wise.
