Box Score WISE, Va. - - West Virginia State closed the game on a 26-8 run to post a 56-48 victory over UVa-Wise at the Prior Center on Thursday.  The Yellow Jackets' Lexy Carson led all players with 21 points and India Taste scored 10 points, grabbed eight boards and handed out eight assists in the victory.

Neither team shot well in the contest as the Jackets (9-4, 5-2 MEC) hit just 35.6 percent from the field and the Cavaliers (6-5, 2-5 MEC) connected on only 34.5 percent of its field goal attempts. 

Katie Jo Lester led UVa-Wise with 14 points, Makenzie Cluesman was the only other Cavalier to score in double-figures as she scored 11 points to go along with her 10 rebounds and six assists.
