STORY LINES
  • UVa-Wise will look to snap a three-game losing streak on Thursday.  The Cavaliers last win came on December 5th when the team scored a 53-43 road victory at West Virginia Wesleyan.
  • Senior Reynesha Archer came off the bench to score a team-high 19 points while also grabbing five rebounds in 22 minutes of action.
  • The game will mark the first home game for UVa-Wise since December 7th, the Cavaliers won't play at home again until January 23rd when Concord University visits the Prior Center.
  • UVa-Wise is in the midst of five games in eight days, four of those games are taking place away from Wise.
  • After missing the first nine games with injury, freshman Megan Smith made her collegiate debut against West Liberty University.  
  • West Virginia State University enters the game the second ranked scoring offense in the MEC at 81.4 points per game.  The Cavaliers lead the league in defense having allowed opponents only 67.5 points per game through the first ten games.
  • As a team, the Yellow Jackets lead the MEC in field goal percentage at 47 percent.
  • West Virginia State's Lexy Carson ranks seventh in the nation in scoring at 23.1 points per game.
