STORY LINES
  • Deon Boyce turned in his sixth straight double-double and eighth of the year with his 23-point 19-rebound performance against #1 West Liberty University.
  • Junior Javon Moore is starting to get on a run, over the last two games, Moore has scored 36 points, grabbed 20 boards and collected six steals.
  • Thursday's game will be the Cavaliers only home game between December 17th and January 23rd.
  • On the last road trip, UVa-Wise shot 48 free throws in two contests, 35 of the attempts came in a victory at Wheeling Jesuit University.
  • The Cavaliers should enjoy an advantage on the glass against the Yellow Jackets.  UVa-Wise ranks second in the MEC in rebounding margin at + 6.2 while West Virginia State ranks 11th at - 6.2.
  • Thursday's game will feature two teams who rank near the bottom of the league in field goal percentage.  West Virginia State ranks 10th at 44.6 percent while UVa-Wise is 11th at 40.1 percent.
  • The Yellow Jackets' Anton Hutchins ranks fourth in the league at 19.8 points per game.  The senior has scored in double-figures in ever game he has played this season.
  • After starting the season 1-4, West Virginia State has won three of its last four games, including its first league win, an 82-64 win over West Virginia Wesleyan on Monday.
