STORY LINES
  • UVa-Wise will play its first regular season game in nearly a month when the team visits Wheeling Jesuit for the first of two road games that will take place over two days.
  • Sophomore Makeznie Cluesman led UVa-Wise in its most recent outing, a 64-47 exhibition loss at NCAA Division I Campbell University.  The Jonesville, Va. native scored 20 points in the contest.
  • A win on Sunday would improve the Cavaliers to 5-0 and on the road.  UVa-Wise has not won its first five games away from Wise since the 2005-06 season.
  • The Cavs continue to be impressive on defense as opponents are scoring just 65.9 points per game.  The number leads the MEC.
  • Three guards for UVa-Wise are averaging over six rebounds per game.  Kenzie Poindexter (6.5), Makenzie Cluesman (6.4) and Taylor Sandidge (6.3) are all hitting the glass from their guard position.
  • Four Cavs are ranked in the MEC's top 10 in minutes played.  Taylor Sandidge (37), Katie Jo Lester (35.38), Kenzie Poindexter (35.38) and Makenzie Cluesman (35.25) have all played extensive minutes this season.
  • Sunday's game will be the start of four games in six days for coach Kunzman's club.
