Late First Half Run Too Much to Overcome in Loss to No. 10 Glenville State

GLENVILLE, W.Va. - - Number 10 Glenville State used a 23-8 run to close the first half en route to a 103-80 victory over visiting UVa-Wise at the Jessee R. Lilly Gym on Thursday. 

The Pioneers (17-2, 12-1 MEC) put 12 players in the scoring column while playing 14 different players in the win.  Kenyona Simmons led all players with 21 points in the win while Keyanna Tate, 12 and Tasia Bristow, 11 also scored in double-figures.

UVa-Wise (8-9, 4-9 MEC) was plagued by 23 turnovers which led to 31 Glenville State points in the loss.  Despite the loss, a season-high six Cavaliers scored in double-figures, led by 14 each from Reynesha Archer and Katie Jo Lester.

Coach Kristin Kunzman's club will return to action on Saturday when the team visits Urbana University for a 2 p.m. tip.
