Cavalier Women Travel to #10 Glenville State on Thursday

STORY LINES
  • UVa-Wise will look to win back-to-back games and get one of the biggest wins in program history when the team faces no. 10 Glenville State College on Thursday.
  • The Cavaliers held West Virginia Wesleyan without a made field goal for the first 12:15 of the second half in completing a season sweep of the Bobcats with a 58-50 victory.
  • UVa-Wise continues to lead the Mountain East Conference in scoring defense.  Opponents are scoring just 66.1 points per game against the Cavs thus far this season.  Coach Kristin Kunzman's club also ranks third in the MEC in field goal percentage defense as teams are hitting just 38.6 percent of their shots against UVa-Wise.
  • The Cavs have four players averaging over 33 minutes a game.  Taylor Sandidge, Makenzie Cluesman, Kenzie Poindexter, and Katie Jo Lester all rank in the MEC's top 10 in minutes.
  • Glenville State leads the MEC in numerous offensive categories.  As a team, the Pioneers are leading the league in scoring offense, scoring margin, assists, offensive rebounds, and assist to turnover ratio.
  • Glenville State made 15 3-pointers in posting a 101-65 victory over UVa-Wise at the Prior Center on December 7.  The Cavaliers committed 22 turnovers in the game while also being out-rebounded 65-47.
