STORY LINES
  • UVa-Wise will look to get back to .500 after dropping below the break even mark for the first time this season after a 73-66 loss to Concord on Thursday.
  • Makenzie Cluesman leads UVa-Wise in scoring, 11.9 ppg, rebounds, 6.8 rpg, and assists 3.2 apg.
  • UVa-Wise continues to lead the Mountain East Conference in scoring defense.  Opponents are scoring just 67.1 points per game against the Cavs thus far this season.  Coach Kristin Kunzman's club also ranks third in the MEC in field goal percentage defense as teams are hitting just 38.9 percent of their shots against UVa-Wise.
  • The Cavs have four players averaging over 33 minutes a game.  Taylor Sandidge, Makenzie Cluesman, Kenzie Poindexter, and Katie Jo Lester all rank in the MEC's top 10 in minutes.
  • Freshman Kayla Carey is shooting 52.9 percent from the field this season.  The shooting percentage would rank her in the top ten in the Mountain East Conference if she qualified on made field goals.  
  • West Virginia Wesleyan is the lone winless team in the MEC.  The Bobcats have lost 10 consecutive games in a row, most recently losing 122-64 to Glenville State College.
