STORY LINES
  • UVa-Wise will look to win back-to-back games for the first time since November 23th and November 25th when West Va. Wesleyan visits the Prior Center on Saturday.
  • The Bobcats limited the Cavaliers to just 39.6 percent shooting and 25 percent from beyond the arc in posting a 74-63 victory in the first meeting between the two schools on December 5th.
  • Sophomore Matt Day sealed Thursday's victory over Concord.  The Buckhorn, Ky. native scored 20 points in the win and finished the game with a rebound and two key free throws in the final 10 seconds of the contest.
  • Senior Deon Boyce continues to lead the Mountain East Conference in rebounding at 14.4 per game.  On the season, Boyce has recorded 13 double-doubles, including 11 in a row.
  • The Bobcats' T.J. Thompson ranks eighth in the MEC in scoring at 18.1 points per game.  In the first meeting between the two schools, Thompson drained four 3-pointers en route to a team-high 16 points. As a team, West Va. Wesleyan hit 11 3-pointers in the first meeting.
  • West Va. Wesleyan ranks second in the MEC in made 3-pointers per game at 202.
  • UVa-Wise is out-rebounding its opponents by an average of 6.3 per game.  By contrast, West Va. Wesleyan is being out-rebounded by an average of .5 per game
