UVa-Wise will look to win back-to-back games for the first time since November 23th and November 25th when West Va. Wesleyan visits the Prior Center on Saturday.
The Bobcats limited the Cavaliers to just 39.6 percent shooting and 25 percent from beyond the arc in posting a 74-63 victory in the first meeting between the two schools on December 5th.
Sophomore Matt Day sealed Thursday's victory over Concord. The Buckhorn, Ky. native scored 20 points in the win and finished the game with a rebound and two key free throws in the final 10 seconds of the contest.
Senior Deon Boyce continues to lead the Mountain East Conference in rebounding at 14.4 per game. On the season, Boyce has recorded 13 double-doubles, including 11 in a row.
The Bobcats' T.J. Thompson ranks eighth in the MEC in scoring at 18.1 points per game. In the first meeting between the two schools, Thompson drained four 3-pointers en route to a team-high 16 points. As a team, West Va. Wesleyan hit 11 3-pointers in the first meeting.
West Va. Wesleyan ranks second in the MEC in made 3-pointers per game at 202.
UVa-Wise is out-rebounding its opponents by an average of 6.3 per game. By contrast, West Va. Wesleyan is being out-rebounded by an average of .5 per game
