WISE - - The trio of Deon Boyce, Matt Day and Javon Moore combined to score 59 points as UVa-Wise held off a second half rally by Concord University to score a 71-68 Mountain East Conference victory at the Prior Center on Thursday. 

UVa-Wise (8-7, 5-6 MEC) jumped out to a 16 point advantage at halftime and led by as many as 19 points only to see Concord's (5-12, 2-9 MEC) Aaron Miller miss a potential game tying 3-pointer at the buzzer. 

Mike Boyd came off the bench to score a game-high 22 points for the Mountain Lions in the loss while A.J. Williams added 16 points off the bench.  The visitors battled their way back into the contest with a strong performance at the foul line as they connected on 20 of 24 attempts in the game.

Boyce and Day each scored 20 points for the Cavaliers while Moore scored 19 points.  Boyce added 18 rebounds for his 13th double-double of the season and his 11th consecutive.  Meanwhile, Day had eight rebounds and Moore had six rebounds and five assists.

The Cavaliers will look for back-to-back MEC wins on Saturday when West Virginia Wesleyan visits the Prior Center for a 4 p.m. tip.
