Cavalier Men Falter in Second Half in loss at Shepherd

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - - Shepherd University overcame a 13 point halftime deficit to post an 88-76 victory over UVa-Wise on Saturday.  The Rams hit 11 3-pointers in the win, eight of which came in the second half when the host shot 80 percent from beyond the arc.

Shepherd's (11-3, 6-2 MEC) Brantley Osborne led all players with 21 points while the Rams Morgan McDonald turned in a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.  Marcus Pilgrim came off the bench to score 19 points for Shepherd who received 23 points from the bench.

Deon Boyce led UVa-Wise (6-6, 3-5 MEC) with 16 points and 12 rebounds and Javon Moore scored a team-high 18 points.  Charles George added 13 points and Matt Day scored 11 in the loss.

UVa-Wise will play again on Monday when the team travels to Fairmont State University for a 7:30 p.m. tip.
