STORY LINES
  • UVa-Wise will look to win its third consecutive game overall and its fourth consecutive road game on Thursday.
  • Freshman Makenzie Hensley started her first collegiate game against UPike on Monday.  The Gainesboro, Tenn. native scored six points on 3-5 shooting in the victory.
  • The Cavaliers had a trio of players lead the team in scoring in the victory against UPike.  Reynesha Archer, Katie Jo Lester, and Taylor Sandidge all scored 15 points.
  • UVa-Wise scored 40 of its 71 points in the paint and recorded 13 second chance points on Monday.  
  • Four Cavaliers are averaging 35 or more minutes per game.  In the win against UPike, Makenzie Cluesman and Taylor Sandidge played all 40 minutes. Junior Katie Jo Lester leads the MEC in minutes per game at 36.83.
  • Thursday's game will pit the two lowest scoring offenses in the MEC.  UVa-Wise ranks 11th in the league at 69.2 points per game while Wesleyan is last in the league at 62.4 points per game.
  • Wesleyan has struggled to put the ball in the basket early on hitting just 32 percent of its shots.
