Boyce Records Sixth Double-Double of the Season but Cavs Fall at LMU

HARROGATE, Tenn. - - #20 Lincoln Memorial University outscored visiting UVa-Wise 45-24 in the second half to score an 83-57 non-conference men's basketball victory on Saturday.   The victorious Railsplitters shot 50 percent from the field in the victory, including seven made 3-pointers while limiting the Cavaliers to 29.2 percent shooting in the contest. 

Chance Jones led LMU (8-1) with 17 points while Vincent Bailey added 16 points and seven rebounds in the win.  Curtis Webb came off the bench to have a solid performance for the Railsplitters as he scored 11 points, grabbed four rebounds, handed out four assists, and finished with four steals. 

Deon Boyce recorded his sixth double-double of the season for UVa-Wise (5-3) as he scored a game-high 22 points while also leading all players in rebounds with 16.  The senior forward was the only player to score in double figures for the Cavs who hit just seven of 33 second half shot attempts.  LMU also won the battle of the boards posting a 46-36 advantage on the glass in the contest.

The game was the final non-conference game of the 2013-14 season for UVa-Wise and the team will not play again until January 5th when the team travels to Wheeling Jesuit University for a 3 pm tip.
