STORY LINES

UVa-Wise lost its first game of the season on Saturday despite out-rebounding Urbana 49-33. The setback stopped the Cavaliers best start to the season since 2005-06.
Senior Reynesha Archer is performing well in her final season at Wise. The Manchester, Conn. native is averaging 9.5 points and four rebounds a game in her "sixth woman" role.
UVa-Wise has been getting to the free throw line at a staggering rate early in the season. Through four games, the Cavaliers have shot 113 free throws while making 81 of those attempts. Opponents have went to the line just 65 times by contrast.
The Cavs continue to get balanced scoring. Through four games, six players are averaging 7.8 points or more. Makenzie Cluesman (16), Katie Jo Lester (11.3), Taylor Sandidge (11.3), Reynesha Archer (9.5), Kayla Carey (eight), and Kenzie Poindexter (7.8) are all off to solid starts in 2013-14.
Notre Dame enters the game undefeated and second in the MEC in scoring offense at 85 points per game. The Falcons are also off to a good start on defense as they rank second in scoring defense at 62.5 points per game.
The Falcons' Martha Nagbe ranks third in the MEC in scoring at 20.5 points per game while also ranking third in rebounding at 10 per game.
