A native of Lanexa, Virginia (New Kent H.S.), Allen was named First-Team All-Mountain East Conference for the second straight year on Nov. 18 and earned both NCAA Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA) All-Atlantic Region First Team and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Atlantic Region honorable mention honors earlier today.

Allen was an integral part of the Cavs’ success this year, helping lead the team to a 3-2 win at West Virginia State on Nov. 7 for UVa-Wise’s 15th win of the season, the most victories in a single-season since 2007, and a No. 4 seed in the MEC tournament.

Karley finished the season leading the MEC in five statistical categories including total kills, kills per set, total attacks, points per set and attacks per set. The junior registered 535 total kills this season for fourth-most nationally at 4.31 kills per set, 11th-best in the nation. Allen’s 1,549 total attacks was second among all NCAA Division II players, while her 12.49 attacks per set was seventh nationally and 4.85 points per set 14th. The outside hitter finished second in the MEC in service aces, having recorded 43 this season, and third in total digs with 495. She was also sixth in the conference in digs per set (3.99) and service aces per set (0.35).
