The University of Virginia's College at Wise Athletics

Sophomore Daria Tyshchenko is the women’s Cavalier of the Month. Last week, Tyshchenko was named the Mountain East Conference women’s tennis player of the week. She had an undefeated 3-0 week in singles where she earned two MEC wins and a non-conference win against Milligan College. She also upset the University of Charleston’s Toni Katipa, who was ranked 10^th in singles in the Atlantic Region.

The No.1 singles player from Kirovograd, Ukraine (School #25) was the first UVa-Wise tennis player to earn MEC player of the week in the school’s history. She was also a first-team all-MEC selection last season as a freshman.
