Women’s basketball senior guard Makenzie Cluesman has been named February Female Cavalier of the Month for her second consecutive monthly award.

Cluesman earned the women’s award by being named All-MEC First Team on Feb. 27 for her performance during the 2016-17 season. The 5-foot-8 guard averaged 14.3 points per game while adding 6.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game in a month that saw the Cavs clinch the No. 3 seed in the 2017 Mountain East Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament and secure the program’s first 20-win season since the 2005-06 season.

The Jonesville, Virginia, native turned in a pair of double-doubles in the month beginning with a 16-point, 10-rebound showing against regular season MEC champion Glenville State College. The Lee High School graduate added a second double-double when she tallied 14 points and dished out 10 assists against West Virginia State.

Cluesman capped the month by draining five 3-pointers on senior day to establish a new single-season school record for made 3-pointers in a season with 84.
