Women’s basketball senior point guard Taylor Sandidge has been named Female Cavalier of the Month for the month of December. Sandidge, a 5-foot-4 senior guard from Waynesboro, Va. continues to be one of the better point guards in the Mountain East Conference. In December, she averaged 9.2 points per game, 4.5 rebounds per game and 4.5 assists per contest to aid the Cavaliers to a 9-4 record to this point in the season.
Sandidge has scored 1,137 points during her four-year career at UVa-Wise to rank 12th in school history. The guard has a chance to move into the top ten later this season as she stands just 30 points shy of former Cav Chelsea Lee who finished her career with 1,167 points.
Sandidge began the month of December with back-to-back double digit scoring performances. The senior scored 13 points while grabbing five rebounds in a game at Glenville State before turning in a 17-point, four-rebound performance at King University. The guard followed up the back-to-back strong scoring performances by dishing out seven assists in a win at the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras.
