Carey scored in double figures in all seven games during the month. The Knoxville, Tenn. native scored 20 or more points in three consecutive games while aiding the Cavaliers to a 6-1 start. The former Hardin Valley High School standout was named MEC Player of the Week following a pair of UVa-Wise victories over Winston-Salem State and the University of Charleston.

The 6-foot-2 forward averaged 16.5 points, 9.3 rebounds and shot 59.6 percent from the field en route to her player of the week honor.
