Allen has been named Women's Cavalier of the Year after leading UVa-Wise on the volleyball court last fall, becoming the first Cav to ever reach the 1,000 career mark in both digs and kills on Oct. 24 when she recorded her 1,000th dig during a 3-0 sweep at Glenville State. The Lanexa, Virginia (New Kent H.S.), native was named All-MEC First Team, NCAA Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA) First-Team All-Atlantic Region, American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Atlantic Region honorable mention and Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) College Division All-State Volleyball Second Team. It was the second consecutive year Allen was named All-MEC First Team and D2CCA First-Team All-Atlantic Region.

The outside hitter led the MEC in five statistical categories including total kills, kills per set, total attacks, points per set and attacks per set. Allen registered 535 total kills last season for fifth-most nationally at 4.31 kills per set, 11th-best in the nation. Allen’s 1,549 total attacks was second among all NCAA Division II players, while her 12.49 attacks per set was seventh nationally and 4.85 points per set 12th. The junior finished third in the MEC in both service aces (43) and total digs (495) last season. Additionally, Allen was fifth in the conference in service aces per set (0.35) and sixth in digs per set (3.99).

After three seasons of play, Allen ranks third all-time on UVa-Wise’s career kills list (1,290) and is fourth in school history in digs (1,130).

Allen was an integral part of the Cavs’ success last year, helping lead the team to 15 wins for the most victories since 2007 and the most wins in a single-season while Head Coach Kristen Salyer has been at the helm of the program.
